Meet Tricia Davis, general manager of Bali Equestrian Centre, the only equestrian center of the island with five international stars. OCI includes Aravina Restaurant and Cellar Door, a pool club and playground, equestrian gallery and many amenities for the whole family to enjoy.

How do you have a part of BEC?
I'm already used to Canggu Club where I met Melissa Lynton-Lobato, owner of BEC, a long time resident of Bali and also WA she planned BEC for years and was able to get this property, two hundred acres in the middle of Canggu and rural, and everything started to happen. It has been extremely rewarding and satisfying to watch evolve and see the final results.
What went first?
The teams worked for two years. Aravina Restaurant & Cellar Door, The Gallery, Pool Club and playground followed a year later.
How to maintain the facilities for horses at this level?
We have a great team here. Most grooms have been with us since the beginning and have close ties with the horses. Each groom is assigned to take care of three horses. The stables are equipped with ceiling fans, fluorescent insect zappers, and wash bays for horses and ponies. Facilities include a 20m by 20m arena covered rubber kids area, a 25m by 65m indoor arena sand with dressing mirrors, headlights and seats for spectators, a 30m by 70m lighted outdoor rink and forty -Two luxury stables, surrounded by eight lush grass paddock.
We get requests every day from people who want their horses to BEC ageist, but at this point we just do not have the room. Several customers rent horses for these horses get that extra personal relationship. It's all about the health and welfare of horses. We have a Yayasan Made Restiati, renowned veterinarian. She takes care of all our horses, check them regularly.
Tell me lessons and instructors CLB.
Our instructors are accredited internationally. They will assess your riding level and create classes to achieve the goals you want to set. The whole family can come and enjoy the pool and playground, while a family member has a riding lesson.
We have a wonderful Sunday brunch with leisure facilities to please everyone. We also offer a selection of guided tours through the rice paddies and fishing villages Berawa Beach and Echo Beach. Individual and group lessons for children and adults are designed to deepen your understanding and passion for riding and horse riding. There are a variety of riding opportunities for children over three years, including pony rides, pony club, camps, lessons and equestrian themed birthday parties are proving very popular. It is exciting for kids while parents can relax, wine and dine in a tranquil setting.
You recently held The Melbourne Cup here. How was it?
He was an excellent event and next year will be even bigger! BEC is an ideal place to organize events and we look forward to welcoming more in 2014. Our Aravina Restaurant and Cellar Door sit in the heart of horse riding and is a beautiful place overlooking the main arena riding and swimming club and playground. All Melbourne Cup the products went to support our chosen foundation, the Foundation Safe Childhood, which is such an amazing program.
What are the future plans for BEC?
We have many plans for the coming year. Soon we will start the Vaulting lessons, which is gymnastics on horses. We plan to hold a gymkhana in December, that will showcase the skills of our teams Riders. We plan to integrate a program with special needs children that horses teach us to concentrate, feel and react. We will employ a qualified instructor for these classes. We also seek to purchase a Spanish dancing horses, which will be wonderful to sit here in the restaurant and watch! We certainly have a huge 2014 come!
